In child development, we learned about the process of pregnancy. I found it interesting that back in the day, women were strapped down and blind folded when giving birth, as well as after. We also
Had to view documentaries on birthing, and they were both disturbing and spectacular at the same time. It's crazy to think that a women can actually grow something inside of them. Later in the semester, the class learned about life after birth. The behavior of toddlers, and also how their brains function. When we watched a video of the teenager having a tantrum, we realized that teens are actually more like toddlers than we think.
I'm really excited to receive my baby in January, but at the same time, but couldn't be more nervous. I feel like I'm gonna mess up one tiny thing and then fail. But I guess I will just have to and find out.

this week in child development, we had to create a toddler daycare center. We also had to come up with 5 different careers that involve children, and create a PowerPoint to describe each one. So far, my favorite job listed is a pediatrician, because I would like to pursue a career in something medical, that also involves kids.

This week in child development, we took a deeper look into how a toddler displays their emotions. We also viewed the movie, "inside out", and learned how each emotion has an impact on our personalities. On Thursday and Friday, we had to create our own toddler toys that would benefit their developmen.

In child development, we created a literacy cube for toddlers. We had to create 6 different sides that a toddler could understand, while promoting moral development. We also has to create a lesson plan that promoted some kind of development, and mine was science.

During this week of Child Development, we viewed the little mermaid. We were then asked to compare Ariel to a toddler. This activity helped me to have a visual of a toddlers social and emotional development ( and I'm not just saying this because we got to watch a movie). I believe that if we do more activities similar to this, we will be better prepared for the test.

This week in child development, we focused on the physical development in toddlers. I thought that it was really interesting how toddlers are actually called toddlers because they toddle when they walk. On Friday, we went to different activities around the room that a toddler would usually enjoy, and had to analyze them. (I would just like to say that spanking is not child abuse).

This week in child development, we worked on our child day care centers. We had to construct a layout for the main room and outdoor area, while recording the supplies needed. It was actually way harder than it sounds, because you have to be careful not to break any state rules.
