What I learned this week
Over the week, we learned about the early stages of pregnancy. I found it interesting that when the mother gets morning sickness, it's because her body is fighting off the baby because it believes it's bacteria. We also learned about the signs and symptoms of a pregnancy, and how most mothers don't even know that they're pregnant until about 3 months. I had to wear the belly this week, and it was horrible. I was so uncomfortable and it was extremely hard for me to walk up and down the stairs.
what I learned this week
Over the week, we learned about the later stages of pregnancy.the class got to see the crack baby(even though I wasn't there to see it), and apparently it shook and cried in an abnormal way. On Thursday and Friday, we did group projects on different birth defects. My group's was Sickle Cell Anemia; when there are irregular blood cells. The blood cells are shaped like the farming tool, sickle, and can cause irregular brain development, and other life changing effects.

9-18-15
This week in child development, we watched a documentary about a couple women
who decided to give natural, home births. I learned that more than half of
mothers today decide to have a cesarean birth, and very few doctors get to
witness natural births. One women gave birth in a bath tub, and it might have
been even more disgusting than the first birthing that we watched in the miracle
of life
